MUSICIANS & VOCALISTS
Musicians and vocalists help lead the congregation in worship through song, creating space for connection with God through praise, adoration, confession, lament, resistance, and reflection. Whether through rhythm, harmony, or melody, this team supports congregational singing as a shared spiritual practice. Members commit to collaboration, preparation, and listening—to one another, to the congregation, and to the Spirit at work among us. This team gathers at 8:30am for rehearsal and also helps with teardown following the service. Musicians and vocalists of all ages and experience levels are invited to reach out for a conversation and musical check-in before joining the team.
READERS
Readers serve by sharing scripture, prayers, and other spoken elements during worship. With care and presence, this ministry helps the words of our faith and longings of our hearts be heard clearly and felt deeply. If you enjoy reading aloud and helping others listen more intentionally, this is a simple and powerful way to serve. Readings are sent out ahead of time and we ask that readers show up at least 15 minutes prior for a quick mic check and gathering with the team leading that particular service.
PRODUCTION TEAM
The Production team supports worship by ensuring sound, lights, visuals, and livestream elements are clear, accessible, and seamless. This ministry helps remove distractions so the congregation can fully engage in worship—whether in the room or joining from afar. This team practices hospitality through attentiveness and care. Time commitment is typically rehearsal through the end of worship, unless serving on the Audio team.
CITY CHURCH CHOIR
The City Church Choir is a welcoming community of singers who help lead worship during key seasons in the life of our church, including Easter at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell, our Carol Service in December, and for Pride Sunday in June. The choir brings beauty, depth, and joy to our shared worship and is open to anyone who loves to sing. Structured to support voices of all ages and experience levels, the choir also offers opportunities to share leadership and sing solo or featured parts. Rehearsals are typically at the Russian Center following Worship or various midweek evenings (6pm-8pm) at the City Church office in the Outer Richmond.
