To Sing an Old Song in a New Way

My daughter recently referred to my nostalgic music as “oldies” and I have to admit that a little part of me died inside. Yet, I have made peace with this. Choosing a musical era and unapologetically living in it forever, as this recent article put it, is a way to name who you were yesterday while embracing who you are today. Learning to sing an old song in a new way, so to speak, is a lot of what is happening in the Psalms of “reorientation.” After a season of disorientation, what does it sound like to proclaim God’s truths in new ways? Join us in person (10am at the Russian Center or online), as we explore this and conclude the final week of our sermon series, “Psalms in the Key of Life.” Speaking of wrapping things up, we’re also headed into the final month of our fiscal year. I am proud of the level of financial commitment that folks have demonstrated through this year of transition! Even so, we could use your support to help us close this year with strength. You can view a fuller financial update here, and make a contribution here.

Faithfully,
Pastor Emily
