The Tears of God Sermon Series

It’s been said that C.S. Lewis called Jesus “The Tears of God”.  According to the writer of Hebrews, Jesus is the “exact imprint of God’s very being” revealing to us a God who weeps with us.  Jesus, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, sets an example for us to live life fully present to life as it actually is, filled with temptations, catastrophes, risks, loss, and struggle.  As we traverse the rugged terrain of Lent, we will see that God’s tears in the life and ministry of Jesus invite us to our own tears, and in those tears, renewal, new beginnings, and a uniquely nurtured joy.
