This Sunday, January 22nd, we have an opportunity to press pause on our regular Sunday worship to serve our neighbors and City for our first Service and Fellowship Sunday. We have created a choose-your-own-adventure style morning with three opportunities across San Francisco for you to choose: Mission with Pastor Emily, NOPA with Pastor Stephen and Outer Richmond with Pastor Jay. If you were planning to be OOT that Sunday or you attend City Church online, you can also help out by purchasing items from the list for the group who will be serving at our office. Visit the webpage we’ve created and sign up!
An Important Staffing Update
This week we have an important update from Rev. Emily McGinley and Karl Digerness. Karl has served as our Worship Arts Director for nearly 20 years and has discerned that his time in that role is coming to an end. Karl sat down with Emily to speak more to the decision and how we can be praying and supporting him during this period of transition! You can view the video HERE. Karl’s final Sunday will be April 30th, 2023. Between now and then, be sure to share some of your favorite photos and memories of Karl on this Kudoboard.
New Class: Elements of Faith
At City Church we understand that how we believe is just as important as what we believe. Whether you are new or returning to City Church, Christianity, or just want to revisit central elements of the faith, join this 6 week group experience. Each week we will discuss a topic; Grace, Salvation, Sin and Transformation, Justice, Spiritual Practices, and Community and then talk about how that topic intersects with our lived experiences. Along the way, you’ll also learn about City Church and how these topics shape our various ministries. Registration Requested: Lunch and childcare will be provided, register here!
Looking Back
This past Sunday we celebrated King Sunday with our special guest co-preacher, Jennifer Esteen and musician, Drew Jones. Thank you to Jenn and Drew for not only sharing their gifts but also their stories. On Monday, we gathered alongside so many siblings, faith-based organizations, advocates, leaders, elected officials and churches who work tirelessly for justice and equality in San Francisco as we marched through SOMA to Yerba Buena. You can see the photo’s here.
