Pride Worship Service: Beacon of Love
All are invited to join us for worship on Sunday, June 23rd for a special Pride themed worship service led by our City Church Choir and seminarian/member of our community, Amanda Samuel, who will be back with us from Princeton Theological. Together we'll join in the theme for SF Pride 2024 and reflect on how we might continue to be a "Beacon of Love." In a crucial election year when LGBTQIA+ rights are under assault across the country, "Beacon of Love" is a theme that expresses the undiminished spirit of our great city as a global leader in the fight for LGBTQIA+ liberation and fundamental human rights. It is also an element that underpins our commitment as a church to be theologically generous and radically inclusive, a lighthouse to those looking for hope amidst the darkness. At our Pride Worship service we'll sing songs of praise and liberation, join our hearts in bold prayers for God's wisdom and guidance, and be invited into new ways of seeing how this work matters for our collective freedom as followers of Jesus. So put on that bold, colorful shirt you've always wanted to wear and invite a friend to join you at City Church for this very special service!
