Margo Pumar, MD, MA

As an adult psychiatrist,  specializes in a range of areas including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related issues, OCD, ADHD, and various reproductive health challenges (premenstrual syndromes, preconception planning, infertility and pregnancy loss, birth trauma, perimenopause). From medications to psychotherapy, nutrition to coping tools, she believes in a holistic approach to mental health care tailored to your individual needs and preferences. With extensive training in psychotherapeutic modalities and a passion for infusing humor and compassion into her work, Margo is dedicated to helping people feel their best while dealing with many of life’s challenges. 

Margo cares deeply about the role spiritual formation plays in holistic approach to healing and wellness. In addition to a Doctor of Medicine from UC Davis School of Medicine, she has a Master of Arts in theological studies from Regent College in Vancouver, BC where she focused her studies on faith and art. Throughout her medical career, she has held academic appointments in Clinical Psychiatry at UCSF, University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Botswana, School of Medicine. She currently practices psychiatry at Arbit Counseling in Washington, D.C., where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She is licensed to work with California-based patients remotely.
