Packing Back-to-School Backpacks: Thank you to all the hands who shopped and purchased and helped pack 50 pencil packs and backpacks for the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco. The Boys and Girls Club hands out 800 backpacks every year to SFUSD students. We also have a growing pile of supplies and snacks for the Tenderloin Elementary School. If you would like to contribute to this pile you can find the list of supplies here. We will be delivering these supplies closer to the start of school. Service projects for children make faith real, give them power to exact change in the world, and creates deeper empathy. Also, look to see where the children are near you. Did you know you could join the PTA of your local school even if you are not a parent or guardian? Helping your local public school blesses children across the city and across socio-economic levels. You can also join SF EdFund to volunteer anywhere in SFUSD for any amount of time.
