This summer in Children’s Worship we have been storytelling through the book of Acts. From our theme verse, Ephesians 2:22, we have asked, “If our body is a house where God lives through their Spirit, what does my body know about God? What does the Holy Spirit sound like, feel like, in my body? And how then should I treat you if you, too, are a house where God lives?”
In the past two weeks we have been eavesdropping on Paul’s letters to the early church as they shared evidence and experience, trying to figure out exactly what this Spirit was. How delightful to pull out these discoveries in a room full of children themselves discovering what all this means. The Holy Spirit comes to all kinds of bodies! The Holy Spirit helps us when we are weak! The Holy Spirit makes us brave! The Holy Spirit is always whispering, reminding us we are beloved children of God! And even when we don’t know what to ask God, the Holy Spirit inside of us knows, and groans in secret messages straight into God’s ear. Wow!
If you are someone who loves the stories of the Bible and storytelling, consider Bible storytelling for the children of City Church on a Sunday morning. Join us as we uncover new treasures in these old familiar stories every week.
