Dear City Church Students & Youth Families,
I have some big news for you. Starting this week, I am expanding my role at City Church as the new Pastor of Discipleship! In addition to Student Ministries, I will oversee community group life and spiritual formation for our congregation. Before this is announced to our congregation, I wanted you to be the first to hear this news. As you know, community building and discipleship are two of my pastoral passions. I am very excited to offer these gifts in service not just to our students, but now to our adults as well.
What does this mean exactly? Rest assured, I am not leaving the youth group. In this new role, Student Ministry will remain a top priority. In conversations with the elder board and hiring teams, I was emphatic that my job description would reflect that I am a youth pastor first, and community pastor second. So all this to say, I am not going anywhere, but am simply taking a larger pastoral role at City Church. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to reach out. I’d invite your prayers as I begin this new season.
Grace and peace,
Joshua
