Praying Twice
It has been said that “the one who sings prays twice.” And, indeed, scripture shows the ways in which music, poetry, and prayer have intertwined to not only deepen our worship but express the full spectrum of human experience. Songs, hymns, and spiritual songs are a vehicle which enable us to drop deeper into our spirits and give voice to the depths of our emotions. From fear to gratitude to awe, we will explore what it means to pray twice through the gift of song and the raising of our collective voices to pray Help! Thanks! and Wow! to God.
