I was raised in a fairly conservative Christian home with loving parents who were in ministry. After my marriage I was very involved in the Church of the Nazarene as a pastor’s wife where my husband was a youth pastor and eventually a senior pastor. We lived in Great Falls Montana, Nampa Idaho, Heidelberg Germany and Fremont CA before landing in San Francisco. I moved to the Bay Area with my family in 2001 and started working at the University of San Francisco School of Law where I worked for over 21 years. I have six children and six grandchildren – they are the joys of my life! I went through a difficult divorce in 2013 and eventually started attending City Church in 2016. It has become a home for me and I’ve deeply appreciated the pastors, both past and present, who have opened their hearts to me in welcome and affirmation.

I’m now retired from the University of San Francisco and in the process of finishing my seminary degree to be a chaplain. I’ve completed my Clinical Pastoral Education (an intense 15-month hospital chaplain residency) and am planning to work in a hospice setting. I believe that my training as a chaplain is part of what I will bring with me as a City Church elder. I am grateful for any opportunity to walk with others on their journey, and to be a quiet presence as needed. I love listening to others’ stories and helping them to find their meaning and voice in life.
