This is the very, very beginning of the story. Everything starts here. Out of love, and nothing else, God made our world. And out of love, and nothing else, God made us. God created a beautiful world, and gave it to people to be our home.

We just read some very important words. Did you hear? “God said, ‘Let us make human beings, so that they are like us... so God created people in his own image, in the image of God he created them.” We are in God’s image. We represent God in the world. God is the king of the universe, and placed people on earth to take care of this piece of the kingdom. In a very special way, we show one another and the rest of the world what God is like. What a gift! God must love us so very much!
