Claire Palmquist
Counselor
Claire Palmquist (she/her) completed her Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Drama Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Claire grew up in the forests of rural Minnesota and is passionate about using nature and creation metaphors in her therapeutic practice. In her recent work at the City Church Counseling Center, Claire worked with individual clients (from teens to elders), facilitated Grief Support Groups and Spiritual Trauma Support groups for adults, and led drama therapy-related activities for children.
Claire approaches therapy from a Systems-oriented and Human-Centered perspective, walking alongside her clients to challenge societal systems that keep them from an abundant life. Through somatic therapy practices, Claire supports her clients in reconnecting to their own intuition, sense of agency, and wisdom of their own bodies on their paths of growth and healing. Claire incorporates Internal Family Systems and Drama Therapy to help clients explore their internal “role repertoire.” Leading with compassion and curiosity, Claire supports clients in building more flexible, expansive, and authentic relationship with both themselves and others.
