I was born and raised in Hawaii with a big part of my life being rooted in a conservative Baptist upbringing. My ideas of Christianity began to shift a tiny bit in high school, more in college, and even more so when my husband and I moved to San Francisco in 2008 and joined City Church. City Church has been a major part of our lives ever since, especially as we raise 3 kids and are still figuring out this whole following Jesus thing!

Why do you want to be an Elder: City Church has been my church for the past 15 years and has been a huge part of my family's life. Our City Church community is one of the most important parts of our lives in San Francisco. I like listening to people and seeing how different perspectives can exist around one thing and, because community is very important to me, I would love to aid the church in continuing to foster strong relationships with one another as well as our partner ministries.

Bethany lives in the Inner Richmond and has attended City Church for 15 years.
