As Christians, we understand ourselves to be part of a much bigger story that God is writing–a story narrated by the faithful lives of those who came before us, and will continue on long after we have left this world. And so, what are the gifts that we have been given by those ancestors-in-the-faith who wondered, struggled, and sought to follow in the way of Jesus? What is our part in animating those gifts to carry forward God’s story in the world today? And, how might all of this help us to be good ancestors for those who will come after us, in the generations to come?
