Announcement: From Joshua

Dear church family,

I am writing to let you know I’ll be entering my final year of student ministry at City Church, and will be growing my role as the Pastor of Discipleship. As you might know, in addition to working with our youth, I oversee spiritual formation programs for adults in our congregation. After being ordained last year, I have felt called to serve in a greater pastoral capacity in these ways and more. While I am very excited to serve our congregation with these gifts, this sadly means it's time to step away from student ministry.

As part of this transition: I am excited to announce that we are looking forward to bring in a new youth director next summer. Many of you know Kaylee Dangc, a former student ministry intern from Westmont. Over the past 8 months, I have had the privilege and deep joy of working with Kaylee. In her short time with us, Kaylee has shown a clear calling and profound gifts for leading our student ministry into its next chapter. I am looking forward to seeing our student ministry thrive under her leadership.

To facilitate a smooth transition, Kaylee will stay connected to our student ministry, attending gatherings and events as her schedule permits, while she finishes up her final year at Westmont. Next summer, we anticipate Kaylee joining our staff full-time. My top priority this year is to make sure Kaylee is set up for success. I also plan on working closely with Kaylee in her first year in supporting volunteer leaders and students.

These are challenging times to be followers of Jesus. With many opting out of church or faith altogether, it will require the wisdom of our entire community to discern how our faith is still good news for our hurting world. As we press into an uncertain future, I am confident that the Spirit will help us unearth beauty and renewed purpose together.

With trust and hope,
Joshua
